Congrats! You are Ready to Roll!

You are signed up and ready to go!

You should be receiving (via email) your very own copy of Cigar Secrets. Once you read it, you will be a Cigar Expert!

Until then, just poke around the site and check out a few of our sponsors that make this possible.

You are also now in the “inner circle.” That means from time to time I will forward on some new cigar information or links to some killer cigar deals. Don’t worry, I don’t send you garbage and I don’t share your email with anyone – that is a promise you can take to the humidor!

All the best,

I don’t know where to add the water or how much. I’m a very green 48 year old newbie. The humidor had a round filter thing that is velcro’d inside. It also has a guage on the outside that reads from 0 to 100. What should the guage read? Thanks for the quick response and all your patience.

Sorry, let me back up a bit.

The disc thing should come out. Soak it in water (about a minute should work). You will probably have to hold it under the water. Think of it like a very small sponge – it will soak up the water.

Once you put it back in the Humidor the gauge will start to work (actually, it probably has already started).

Starting with the basics, let’s shoot for the gauge to read somewhere between 70 and 75. If it gets above that..take the disc out for awhile. If it is below that range…the disc needs water.

I just received a humidor today. It didn’t come with any type of directions. Do I have to add water or do anything to it before I add my cigars?

    • Godfadr says:

Most of them nowadays are “just add water.” – Keep an eye on it for the first couple weeks as it will absorb more water than normal as the wood conditions.

Also, try and use filtered or bottled water (not from the tap).

I recently bought a humidor that has not been delivered yet,and ordered a box of cigars 2 days later, the problem is the humidor is coming from Florida and the cigars from Pa. The humidor will arrive a few days after the stogies, how long will they last out of the humidor ?

    • Godfadr says:

No worries. The cigars will be fine for several days (from an actual damage standpoint). Once they are put in a humidor for about 24 hours or so, they will be perfect).

hello, was just wondering if anybody knew where I could buy a plastic cigar mold. I have some wooden ones but want to try one made of plastic. Thanks. David Jones
