About

DSC_0160Cigar Secrets was created to give both new and experienced Cigar Smokers a place to find information as well as chat about their latest cigar finds.

Cigar smoking is an experience.

From the moment you walk into the cigar store to the final puff, it can be an enjoyable experience. It is those in-between moments that can elude us.

Where to store them, which cigar to smoke, how to light it, how to blow smoke rings, how to rate a cigar, selecting the perfect cigar, etc, etc. It is for all of the above that this site is written.

People often confuse “fine” with “expensive” and in reality, they have nothing to do with each other. The finest Cuban cigar is all but wasted on the novice who has no reference to base its taste on or is not ready for a “full-bodied” cigar. And, despite what you may have been told, you don’t need to pay a lot of money or, as in the case of Cubans, worry about bringing a few into the country to find an enjoyable and fulfilling smoke.

Cigar smoking envelops its own set of etiquette, procedures, and standards. How do you age cigars? How do you light a cigar (and look good doing it?) With that said, do whatever you want. Because in the end, it is a matter of taste – not your friends, not ours, but yours.

Lastly, I am always looking for contributing writers for Cigar Secrets – shoot me an email if you think you would like to write. Now that I mention it, I would like to introduce you to Tommy D. If we can get him to stop talking about Cuban Cigars for a bit he can educate us all!

Enjoy!
